The Best Web Hosting in Ireland

“What is the best web hosting in Ireland?” Simple answer… SiteGround.

I’ve used so many of the hosting providers over the years; I was with Bluehost for a long time, and even GoDaddy for while (I don’t like to talk about it, it still gives me nightmares). But for a number of years now I’ve been with SiteGround Web Hosting; all of my business and personal websites are with them, but also, every one of my clients websites are hosted with them. I have to trust them, because the hosting I give my clients is a reflection on FutureProof Digital, and that matters to me. In this post I’ll explain why.

Web Design in Castlerea 2021

It’s been a tough year, I think we can all agree, but for me, it’s been an extremely busy year for Web Design in Castlerea. In March 2020, Ireland went into lockdown, and the vast majority of businesses closed, without knowing when they would reopen. My business, like most others, was hugely effected, but I tried to be as positive as I could. I wanted to contribute in some way, and with my background and skill set, web design is how I could help the business community the most. I offered my services completely free of charge to any business in my local town of Castlerea, including web design, SEO, social media, domain names and hosting. Below are just some of the businesses I worked and what we created.

Website Graphic Design

Some of what I do day-to-day can be a little dull, I enjoy it of course, but it doesn’t make for the best reading, in posts like this. But over the past year I’ve designed and developed some pretty interesting websites, for some very interesting businesses. Some involved some Website Graphic Design, the most fun part of this job. So, I thought I would collate some of the best examples together in this post.

I do the vast majority of this type of work in Adobe Photoshop, although I do use Illustrator sometimes, logo design for example. It’s a lifetime of learning, working with Photoshop. It’s highly enjoyable, and I would advise any business owner to give it a try, or go on a course, even if it’s just to design some of your own promotional material.

Service Page SEO

We’ll get to Service Page SEO in just a moment, but first, let’s talk about your business.

If you run a business that provides services and you think about your website, and how it advertises your business, you need to do 3 things; first, think about each individual service you provide, for example, a beauty salon might do facial treatments, nail treatments and tanning, these are all distinct services. Then, think about what people type into the search engines when they are looking for a business like yours.. And lastly… match the two together.

Political Website Design

We’ll get to Political Website Design in just a second, first a little background.

How many of our elected representatives have a website? TDs, Senators, local Councillors, MEPs… 90% ?… 80% ? Would you be surprised if I told you that less than half of our TDs have their own website? And that this number for local Council members is far lower. I’ve done quite a bit of research on this topic over the past year or so, and it’s been a real eye opener. Many have no digital presence at all, and of those that do, it’s a mixed bag. This is the first in a series of posts in this area; over the coming months we’ll look at social media, audience targeting and content, all as it relates to politics. But today, we’ll start with Political Website Design.

Rank Math SEO – The New Way to Boost your SEO

We’ll get to Rank Math SEO in a moment, first a WordPress & FutureProof little history.

My first website, more than 10 years ago now, was pretty simple, by today’s standards. It was small, only a few pages, and a blog. It was, or course, a WordPress site, and it had very few plugins installed (to this day, I only install what is absolutely necessary, preferring to design and develop from scratch). I can’t remember exactly what all of those plugins were today, except one… Yoast SEO. When I discovered it, it was a real lightbulb moment for me, and started a passion for learning all things search engine… and all things optimisation.
